What could brighten up a cold, rainy February evening?  A trip to the Adam Smith Theatre, Kirkcaldy to see the latest offering from KYMT!  The dull winter’s night outside gave way to rays of pure sunshine and joy in the theatre as the very receptive audience was taken on a whistle-stop tour of Europe by the extremely talented cast of youngsters who all got into that 60’s ‘groove’!  The means of transport of course was the London bus, magnificently created by John Urquhart and team, which rightly took centre stage. The audience were swept aboard the bus from the start of the show, transported by the enthusiasm of the energetic chorus who were bedecked in fashions of the time.  The principal boys and girls were all well cast – they worked hard to develop individual characters, complementing each other, and worked well together to move the story along.  Alastair More shone as Don, even managing to shower and get dressed on stage whilst talking – no mean feat!  He was ably supported in his travels by Robin MacKenzie, Ronan Corkey and Sandy Wallace.  The girls too gave polished performances.  Morgan Wilcox as Barbara sang beautifully, and was aided in her travels across Europe by the trio of Sophie Paton, Charlotte Gold and Rose Henderson, all with impeccable Southern England accents.  Special mention must go to the main comedic protagonists in the show – Stella and Jerry.  Aimee Izatt and Ciaran Sneddon ensured there were laughs-a-plenty as they tracked Barbara, Stella’s daughter, through Europe.  Their timing was faultless and warmly received by the audience.  There were a number of nice touches by Director Monica Holland, including communal volley ball which ensured the audience had to have their wits about them or they faced being bopped by a stray beach ball!  This all added to the fun of the evening! The band was ably led by Martin Tollick with the music and songs evoking the era.  The audience left smiling and humming the theme tune, providing a welcome distraction from the winter about to greet them!
