SSSJ ADS in conjunction with Trinity Drama Group give the youth a chance to shine in Star Shine Youth Concert split into four sections, giving everyone a chance with the youngest aged 7.

With lighting and sound to support a simple set featuring glittery stars adorning the set. Lighting and Sound Wayne Gibson and Sam Dickinson help set the tone. The Directors were Catherine Roe, David Crank, Phil Walkden and Stella Crank. Choreography was a team effort with support from Hannah Bowerbank. The costumes looked great and age appropriate and I noticed the detail of all in black shoes - it’s the detail that matters. Matching T shirts, evening dress and suits all added to the show spectacular. Wardrobe by Stella Crank and Chris Wynn.

One of the highlights of the show was Keira and Nell doing the multicolour Glow Poi ball lights which are thrown around at speed to create patterns to the music. The first half they did Popcorn by Hot Butter and the second half was Green Light by Lorde. This gave a very circus feel and was magical to watch.

Opening up with KC and The Sunshine Band’s Give it up, once the nerves were controlled the group settled in to show off their talent. Songs too many to mention but I will pick a few out. Libby treated us to Sweet Dreams by the Eurythmics and Love Me Like You Do by Ellie Goulding.  Ash sung Just A Dream – thier voice getting stronger through the song and Havanna by Camila Cabello, adding in playing the trumpet - one to watch out for, Ash!

Neo gave us Your Song and Dream A Little Dream with Connie and Keira. Lexie, Connie, Nell, Amelia, Keira and Ash gave us Ex-Wives from the musical Six, with choreography thrown and coming out into the audience - well done! Connie took on Skyfall which is a big song and rose to the challenge. The Writing’s On The Wall sung by Ash and Nell had great harmonies from the film James Bond film Spectre.

There were various ensemble moments and the cast looked to be enjoying themselves throughout down to the youngest member of the cast, who gave her all.

Thank you so much for the invite and hospitality from my guest Angela and I and for a very enjoyable evening.
