Stand and Deliver

The annual pantomime with Starburst (the Youth Section of the Society) given most of the major roles. As usual the Director (Chris Binns), together with the Back Stage crew, concocts the script giving every cast member the opportunity to act, sing and dance. Dick Turpin was the main character and given a feisty performance by Sarah Cate with the sweet singing Isabelle Poveda providing the love interest. The comedy was in the safe hands of Chris Binns (Dame), Dave Collins (Count de Monet) & Gary Darbey (Parson & the evil Mr. E). Bill (Joe Collins) & Katie (Felicity Emmott) played well as the second leads. Nick & Nab (Frankie Ryan - Casey & Jack Mercer) were excellent as the bungling Policemen as was the small Judge (Leo Mercer). Ruff & Reddy (Abigail Buckle &Eleanor Hopkinson) provided good support & singing with the evil Mr. E. The scenery and effects together with the costumes (especially the Cow) were excellent and shows the talent of those back stage. The rest of the cast supplied the support for the main characters and the whole was an excellent example of hard work, enthusiam and concentration from every one involved.
