This Willy Russell play is ideal for a young cast and tells of a night out at a local nightclub in Liverpool for a stag and hen party. There were some excellent Liverpool accents and the 70's outfits took us back  in time.

A strong team of men were very amusing with their different characters coming over well. They were celebrating Dave's stag night but sadly Dave spends most of the evening semi-concious in the toilets.

The ladies were equally amusing as they tried to cheer up bride-to -be Linda with tales of their own humdrum relationships. The appearance of local pop star and Linda's ex boyfriend makes her think about her future and in the end she decides that marriage is not for her.

The set was simple but managed to create a good disco feel. I think one or two chairs on set might have helped with the groupings and solved the 'line up' of the characters.

An amusing play that emphasised the limits put on women in the 70's. There was a very good reaction from the audience and the cast gave us a very entertaining evening.
