The Alban Arena was full of scouts and guides from different areas, as well as many other people anticipating another great show from the St Albans gang, and they were not to be disappointed. The Front of House team were on hand in uniform to give efficient assistance when required.

The packed auditorium was entertained with some pre-show films of passed adventures as the brilliant Orchestra led by the Musical Direction of Eleanor Petch, struck up to open the show, which was a complete feast for the eyes and ears. This was visually one of the most stunning openings to any show that I have ever seen. The first segment entitled “Startin’ something” set the tone for the rest of the show.

The Lighting and audio visual team did a splendid job, and provided excellent atmosphere in every scene. The sound was faultless and considering how many changes of mic there are, the team were on their game. The sound design was also very good in getting the balance right between the vocals and the orchestra.

Martin Wood did a very good job on managing all of the large set changes speedily, avoiding any dead spots and unnecessary blackouts. The set design was great with some ingenious use of props as in “Lesson Time”.

The costumes were amazing, so well designed and made, the colours were vibrant and the quirky designs put a smile on everyone’s face. The pace of the show was slick and the content was entertaining, funny and sometimes emotional, well done to Producer Hermione Drew, Production Manager Sam “Prickle” Keates and the Choreography Team led by Claire Keates.

There are too many performers in this production to mention individually but suffice to say that they all gave a hundred percent in their performances. The soloists performed with confidence as did the chorus who were energised and smiled throughout.

This was another great production from the producers and performers of the St Albans Gang Show, from the stunning opening number to the sensational finale. Well done to all concerned on a wonderful show.
