Spring Showcase

It is always a treat to come and support this wonderful group.  Their main production takes place in the Autumn and in between this they present many concerts often charity performances in Churches and the like.

This concert was a celebration of all the best and most memorable songs from Operatic  Classics,  to much loved Musical Theatre  Show numbers,  along with some of their favourites from their  previous G & S shows.   Compositions ranging from Die Fledermaus, Bizet and the Merry Widow to Phantom of the Opera, My Fair Lady and Les Miserables. Musical Director, Sue, had given much thought to the content of the programme to include something for all tastes.  She introduced the evening and she was always so supportive and encouraging to her performers, which enhanced their performance.

The standard of singing was excellent and certainly good enough to grace any large theatre stage. There were quality performances from soloists, captivating duets and rousing full company numbers with a bit of comedy thrown into the mix.  Lisa, the pianist and accompanist was a talented musician and gave a stand out performance.  

To sum up, a most happy, enjoyable and entertaining evening. Thank you for inviting us and for your warm hospitality. It was good to see so many old friends and make some new ones as well.  We are certainly looking forward to seeing you all again later in the year with Iolanthe.
