This play, written by Bill Naughton, had a great success in London in the 1980`s in an era of `ordinary` people plays. It is well worth it`s resurrection as it contains 8 juicy parts for good actors which this company has.  The set was a joy to behold being on the floor with half the audience in front of the stage,  the other half at the back of the hall and the sides of the Hall being used as the sitting area & the other side as the kitchen. The Director & Cast handled this with great confidence and style.  The cast, with Rafe Crompton, the domineering father  (Chris Binns giving an excellent performance), Daisy Crompton (Joan Tattersall giving an equally excellent and sensitive performance as the mother ), the 4 adult Crompton children ( Rosie Tinker, James Drake, Matthew Driver & Sarah Gates) all gave their best and grew into their parts.  Marie Isbister as the gossiping neighbour provided some good comic timing and David Collins as the boyfriend of the eldest daughter showed us how a worm can turn - a good performance. The concentration, clarity of the dialogue, the acting and the pace of the show was a credit to the hard working company. The whole, with suitable music, lighting, costumes, furniture and props was an excellent evening of entertainment of the highest order.
