I have never seen this play before, as this is a brand new comedy by George Holmes.

Set in a Hotel and Spa, we open with disaster straight away in that all the water systems have broken down. As the guests arrive we are told of their own particular water problems. Jim Carter the Caretaker, excellently played by Steve Parkes, is of course in great demand for each set of visitors who arrive.

A brilliant cast make the most of their situations. William Jolly as the frustrated manager is very well played by  Simon Dodwell despite the fact that his mother Jackie Wilkes turns up to put the cat among the pigeons. Tom Fosker and Sarah Ashton play a couple interested in the macabre and get delight in museums etc. Picky guest Mrs.Parkinson (Annie Harries) is one of those we all meet at a hotel, as if their wants should be paramount, I am sure Samantha Harvey and Henry Tebbutt enjoyed the rehearsals as we see two who can’t take their hands off one another! I liked Elizabeth Stevens the receptionist, who was trying to get a bit of romance into William’s life abetted by his mother.

A good production and an excellent set of characters made this play most enjoyable.
