This hit musical was well staged by Manor Musical Theatre Company.. Pam & James Garrington's production was fast moving, well costumed and sounded good.
Beth Hooper (Nellie) and Barry Styles (Emile) gave strong performances with outstanding vocals. Andy Hooper and Lucy Burbridge ( Lt. Cable and Liat) gave strong support. Paul Wozniak as Luther Billis was full of fun and energy. Nice cameo performances from Lynn Ridge and Richard Parry.
I have left one person until the end and that is Susan Bushby as the iconic character 'Bloody Mary'. She gave this character a nice twist and how the audience loved her. She kept in that character throughout the production. Fantastic job.
I enjoyed Choreographers Janine Henderson's interpretation of 'Happy Talk' A very refreshing change.
Good singing by the chorus and a very workable set.
One of my contemporariness said that the orchestra played the overture to loudly. I beg to differ. The sixteen piece orchestra did a great job under the direction of Peter Bushby.
Pam and James did a great job with this show and together with the company deserve all the praise they get.
