This Rodgers & Hammerstein musical never fails to get the audience leaving the theatre humming after seeing the performance of the upbeat numbers. Throughout, although I was present on the opening night, the whole production including scene changes was carried out at a phenomenal pace but none of the cast at any one time gabbled or threw away their work. I had to agree with a member of the audience when they told me that if they had been watching a video they would genuinely have believed that this in all aspects was a complete professional production.
The lighting, scenery and costumes were of the highest standard and nothing less than would have been expected by a society of this standing. The teamwork was a sight to behold and the singing, choreography and musical direction could not be faulted in any way. It was a pleasure to be present at this presentation and I don't wish to draw out any individual member of cast as they were all of equal professionalism. My comment would be I look forward to going back and seeing them again in the future.
