The range and depth of talent displayed by the youngsters of all ages in the Dereham youth group just amazed and delighted the audiences. A clever way of putting the programme together by Chris Dilley into a story show to link the decades of 1950s through to 2000s with a good selection of songs and dances to exploit all that talent. Whether as solos or ensembles all showed such confidence and ability regardless of age and experience, and DOSYTCo even found the groups of talented males of all ages which proves difficult in amateur theatre! And DOSYTCo is very much a ‘family’ company both for the friendships and the relationships of talent with Dolman sisters, Mazzei brothers, Matwij brothers, and Jones, as well as all the individuals who appear and star in their moment in the limelight. It would be wrong to pick out individual acts and names with so much to offer in the vocal and dancing talents, this group of youngsters must go on to offer so much to the future of drama. With over 30 songs and dances to high professional standard performed by over 40 youngsters, this was a nostalgic trip through the hits of the era. Overall it is the ‘company’ which stars and how well disciplined and energetic and enthusiastic all performers as they give that special something in this production: all involved should be justly proud of what is achieved with a lot of hard work put in, but on a high of enjoyment which reaches over the footlights to include the support teams of audiences, many congratulations to all involved with DOSYTCo.
