This was another brilliant concert in St Peters Church,  beautifully decorated with Christmas trees and lighting effects,  illuminating the stained glass windows which were the backdrop for the singers, all lined up on multi level staging.

All credit to Mike for his expertise and constant encouragement in bringing out  the best  in IODS, with some brilliant harmonies, enhanced by the musical arrangements by Andrew Burke in collaboration with Mike Wren and Ashley Betts which also allowed the pace to flow seamlessly from one song to the next.

The production team of Stephanie, Bridget and Owen had sourced lots of different songs from those not previously performed in this their fourth Christmas concert at the Church. Not an easy task as there are only a certain number of suitable songs to chose from. The mix included some carols, popular classic Christmas tunes, gospel songs, and comedy renditions.  Some were performed by solo singers, others with a group of singers and  sometimes were full chorus numbers.  All were performed professionally by this incredibly talented group of singers and  certainly  got the audience toe tapping and clapping along with the melodies.

Martin Leigh was the compere for the evening  and his introductions were inter dispersed with Christmas cracker jokes. Excellent music was provided by Andrew Burke and David Butcher on Keys, John Lindley on Bass, Jonathan Mudd on Guitar and Pearl Rapley-Gibson on Percussion. Although only five in total, the sound produced gave the effects of a much bigger orchestra. Lighting and sound was by Jeremy Chuter  enhancing the whole effect of the performances.

Thank you to Mike Wren and all the production team and cast in giving their audiences a high quality performance  and a beautiful festive evening. Just the thing to kick off our Christmas season.
