The snow was falling, the traffic was horrendous and I was going to see SNOW WHYTE at West Wckham Pantomime Society, but I knew I would be warmed up, and I was. This new take on Snow White was certainly different, we never got the seven dwarfs, no small people,no adults on their knees or small children..what a pleasant change this made.

It's about a jewel necklace - clever writing. James and Vicky Simpson as Directors gave Snow Whyte a new look and it works. They chose a great cast of all ages and moulded them on the small Wickham Hall stage along with super choreography by Danielle Grant and musical direction by Nicholas Grant It made this Snow Wythe roll along nicely. I knew I was going to get superb costunes and I wasn’t let down, these being due to Josie Simpson, Danielle Grant and Charlotte Gosling - well done Ladies of the costume department. Stage Managers Vicky Simpson and Phoebe Ellis were in charge and their control was uppermost and they made this Snow Whyte bob along nicely.

James and Vicky you chose a splendid cast for this Snow Whyte (Rebecca Graydon), David Warsop (Dame Daisy Dollop) and Phillip George (Muddles). What a strong performance from the Queen (Vicky Kalber), Lin Harrison (Herbert). The magic mirror on video at the side of the stage was clever and worked well with Zac Day being the voice of the mirror. Special praise must go out to Prince Romeo (Kaitlyn Hilson) who signed all the way through for us, very brave of her and looking every part a leading prince (slap my thighs). I think I saw Team Gretel of youngsters, great singing and dancing guys, I'm sure Team Hansel are equally good. Tony Dunne and Michelle Graydon playing Tok and Tic gave solid comedy performances ad-libbing their way though at times, that’s always great in panto. All this was backed up by a strong ensemble of players.

Well done West Wickham you brought this Snow Wyhte up to date and it was a pleasure to be able to attend, despite the weather, you certainly warmed us up. Spendid programme and my guest and I were treated well….Thank you.
