You always come out of the S.V.G. pantomime with the ‘Feel Good Factor’, and this year was no exception! This super script was delivered in style by a very experienced group of principals who engaged the audience from the word go. Special mention must go to Diane Renner, however, for her superb characterisation of the wicked Queen Avarice, and her great rendering of the musical number ‘Killer Queen’. This part really stretched her acting ability, and she rose to the challenge, convincing us all of her wickedness throughout the show.
I must also congratulate the two new principal boy and girl for their lovely performances. There is lots of potential here for the future. Hannah Bass (Prince Ferdinand) and Amy Cowan (Snow White) looked so good and they worked exceptionally well together, and were perfect for the parts. The children also did well playing the roles of the ‘Seven Dwarfs’.
Under the lively baton of Musical Director, Aubrey Sanderson the slick band made a real contribution to the show, and I loved the guitar solo! As always the scenery flowed from one scene to another, and this society really does have one of the best cloths pullers ever.
Well done! to all on stage and off stage for a most enjoyable evening. Thank you for your thoughtful hospitality and on a final note…… the finale costumes were Fab – u – lous!
