Irchester Player’s latest production of Snow White was written by Ben Crocker and was a really traditional pantomime with lots of great family entertainment. Director, Rachael Bass has done a marvellous job, the staging was excellent and it had a good pace throughout. The musical direction by Amanda Squires was superb it had some lovely music choices that were all very well performed and was backed by an excellent three-piece band. The choreography from Chloe Ellson was varied, lively and well performed. The casting was very good and the principals all worked really hard. Emma Ellson was beautiful in the title role of Snow White and was perfectly matched with Jasmine Barker as Prince Frederick, who had such a lovely singing voice. Alex Mckenzie was outrageously funny as Dolly Dumpling and he had a great rapport with the audience. Chris Taylor was excellent as Dolly’s dim-whited son, Danny Dumpling. Tracey Barker was another performer with a beautiful singing voice and was perfectly cast as Wonderwings. Fairy Goodheart was delightfully played by Rosie Squires. Jane Trimarco got the audience booing enthusiastically as Queen Grimelza and Megan Hooton received the same treatment as her evil side-kick Black Wings. A great partnership came from Chris Thirlwell and Marcus Whitestone as the bumbling baddies, Bogwort and Stinkwort. Anthony Curson gave a good performance as Speak True. The Seven Dwarfs were all absolutely delightful. The cast were all wonderfully supported by an excellent chorus, junior chorus and team of woodland animals. Well done to you all.

The set was outstanding and had been very well made and managed as were all the props. The costumes were excellent and really enhanced the show. The makeup and wigs were very good and in keeping with the production. The lighting and sound quality was excellent throughout. Congratulations to all at Irchester Players for this highly entertaining family pantomime.
