Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs brought a burst of colour and a wave of laughter on a cold December evening. It was a small chorus, but filled the stage well. The set was well designed for the small stage space and there was a great use of trucks and pull across beautifully painted cloths to change the scenes - well Done S Howarth. I particularly liked the Wicked Queens’s chamber/dungeon, it housed some great size visual props that the dwarves were later able to steal.

Charlotte Crowley was a great Wicked Queen, with her ultra long eyelashes and glitter lips, she soon had the audience enjoying booing and hissing for her. She worked very well alongside Teri Braiden as the cheeky, opinionated Magic Mirror, together they conveyed the magical side of the story to the audience. Andrew Davis as Fester the Jester worked hard throughout alongside Chris Terry as Nurse Nelly. They were soon providing the laughs and comedy capers that Panto is renowned for. The energy was high and stayed at a great level right to the end - lines weren’t thrown away and diction and enunciation was good. Abbie Heywood (Snow White) and Ewan Arthur (Prince Perfect) did a fine job. Abbie worked particularly well with the Seven Dwarfs (Jacob Grant, Lily-May Haydock, Sofia Ensor, Felicity Kavanagh, Caitlin Waterworth, Lucy Jackson and Sofia Shaw). They were well drilled and were lovely to watch in their rendition of Do-Re-Me.

The sound was good throughout and the lighting, although simple, was sympathetic to the scenes being played out . Thank you, All Saints Elton AOS for an enjoyable evening, I look forward to seeing you all again soon.
