This show got off to a great start with Palace servant - the stupid Muddles (Paul Sullivan) – getting the audience into the true spirit of panto with his silly antics on a bike too small for him! Teamed up with Dora Dumpling (Jane Campbell), making a very fine panto Dame, the two caused havoc in the Royal Palace, helped along in the comedy stakes by Lindsay Brown as the dithering Chamberlain Marmaduke. Also impressing was Anita Kay as Hagwort a magic Troll. Then there was the sarcastic, sneering, and jealous Queen Evilena, played by Gwen Teppett, who was in total command of the stage at her every appearance and determined to get rid of the lovely Princess Snow White. The Magic Mirror (Jo Henderson) - a great effect- upset Her Majesty who wanted to marry handsome Prince Prancelot – a marvellous “overdramatic” performance this by Darren Handy – and she arranged for the Princess’s dramatic end by enlisting Hootsmon the Huntsman – resplendent in tartan to dispose of Snow White. Our heroine escaped and 16-year-old Chloe Harris, who was a perfect looking Snow White with a great stage personality, found herself deep in the woods. Then entered the show’s scene stealers – the Dwarfs! All seven youngsters were well drilled and competent in their parts, so well done to Jamie, Caoimhe, Emma, Rachel, Eilish, Cameron and Sophie! It was a great family panto night.
