On my first visit to STARS I was told this is their 30th year of entertaining in the Parish Centre, long may they continue. Anne Frank the director of the Pantomime and a long standing member has used her experience to bring us a great evening’s entertainment.  The Musical Director, Jonathan Clamp gathered a small orchestra which worked well with the cast.

The STARS group is a real family affair and youngsters Sophie Turner (Snow White) age 13 and Joshua Ashton (Prince Isengard) age 17 gave us the young love interest, their duet, “I can’t help falling in love with you” was heart melting, they played their parts with maturity.

The evil Queen played by Carol Keen, swept onto the stage and gave us the creepy performance we expect of that role, hardly ever off stage she almost carried the first half of the show. Trying to stand up to her was King Bertie, played by Jeff Surma, what a task, glad you were rewarded and got a lovely lady in the end, Liliana, shyly played by Melany McNiff, a lovely contrast to the evil Queen.

Snow White taken to the forest by the huntsman played by Ged Doherty who seemed very much at ease on stage, there she is left to find her own way. Here is the twist, no dwarves but Genies; Bigsis (Caroline Robinson), Cookie (Harry Garstin), Whizzy (Tony Middleton), Boom Boom (Harry Gilbert), Barbella (Danny Klein), and WC (Amelia Tarrend) they showed teamwork and what fun they were
