~~My first visit to the Little Eaton Panto, and I was not disappointed.

The show, written `in house` by Lea Holmes has to be one of the better scripts of a panto that I have seen in recent years, and the cast certainly took advantage of it.  Fast flowing,  witty, and throwing in huge dollups of corny one liners, including local references, this was an exceptional production.

Good comic performances by Jo Russell as Sergeant Me, and Richard Kirkland as Private Him, and Sue Kirkland led the four dwarfs with class.  Alisdair Hamilton`s zany Prince Lightning kept the ball rolling to good effect.  As Muddles,  Beverley Taylor-Collins delivered an energetic performance that the audience lapped up.  Snow White,  played by Rebecca Pipes, also gave an accomplished portrayal as our heroine, but the highlights for me were Martin Bouse as Dame Dollop and Rachel Holmes as Queen Fiadora.  Martin had the audience in stitches with his antics and has to be one of the best dames with a Welsh lilt in the area, his facial expressions were particularly good.  Rachel gave a quite superb rendition of the evil Queen who extorted every boo the audience could offer.

Overall a great show that I thoroughly enjoyed.  Well worth the trip out from the big city.  There`s certainly talent in the woods – Oh yes there is!!
