What a very enjoyable afternoon we spent watching Pleasure Folk’s production of “Snow White”. It had all the elements of the tradition Pantomime, with a good strong cast and plenty of comedy and enthusiasm which made this production very entertaining to all age groups within the audience who  readily joined in with the booing, hissing, cheering and clapping with a great deal of excitement which is very important to the success of this genre. There were some very good performances on stage with some excellent teamwork, spot on comic timing and a good rapport with the audience. These included Jim Briscoe as Dame Murgatroyd, Steve Coghlan as King Hector, Michelle Hopwood as Wot, Charley Nicol as a rapper Magic Mirror, Emily Parker as The Wishing-Well Fairy, Mark Bennison as Lester and Steve Rutter as Wizard Barry Hotter. Heather Bailey was the epitome of the wicked Queen Eldread and it was nice to see a principle boy Prince Rupert played in the traditional manor by Racheal Boal who along with a lovely Princess Snow White played by Steph Parker provided the romantic interest. The dwarfs were well played with enthusiasm by some of the younger members of the cast they were: Georgie Hopwood as Basher, Ellie Hopwood as Bossy, Charlotte Proctor as Cutesy, Alex Proctor as Dopey, Millie Pendleton as Happy, Sophie Walmsley as Greedy, Hannah Warburton as Sleepy, Freja Orritt as Smiley and Harry Geldart as Sneezy .There was some  nice singing  and a good selection of songs well known to the mixed age group of the audience and the band led by Musical Director Nancy Wells played well supporting the cast. The sets, lighting and sound were excellent and costumes were very colourful and were just what was required to help make this production a success.

Congratulations to Director Gemma Briscoe for a very enjoyable production and well done to all involved including front of house who made my family and I welcome, we had a very enjoyable afternoon, have a lovely Christmas
