This was a colourful production and good to see the wide range of ages on stage. I loved the “Reach for the Pie” song which was sung by the rats. I also liked the current references in the Dragoon song from Patience which included a reference to Donald Trump.
Hats off to King Nobert played by Ben Griffith who had to recite the many names of Princess Aurora played by Abigail Hollinghurst whose character found a happy ending with Prince Orlando played by Eloise King.
Jim Smith who played Carabosse stole the show and was well partnered with Spindleshanks played by Dilys Hollinghurst. Two of my favourite moments were when Carabosse was strangulating Spindleshanks for both wanting to be the old woman with the spinning wheel and the other was when Carabosse said that she smuggled in the spinning wheel and they had banished the wrong man but that she was not a man.
All parts were well taken and must give a special mention to young Troy Malho-Sheffield who did a tap solo during the Act 2 finale.
