This was a most enjoyable pantomime with many fine contributions from the very well organised company. The cast was strong in all roles with no weak links. The principal boy Prince Alexis (Sarah Roberts) gave her usual confident acting and singing performance and was well complimented by Jade  Appleton as Princess Rose (Sleeping Beauty) she gave a lovely singing performance and a super solo dance routine. Elizabeth Sykes was a most confident and charming young Princess Rose. No St.Giles with St.Mary's pantomime would be the same without Eric Arundell (Dame Hettie Harpic) who always guarantees us a tremendous performance every year he just gets better like vintage wine! The King and Queen of Muddleby on Marsh (Vinny Empsall & Amanda Lovell) both gave very fine acting and singing contributions in their many scenes together. It was good to see Jill Fieldhouse back on stage as the Bad Witch Hazel she contrasted well with Good Fairy Lilac (Sophie Bain) who was indeed a super fairy with a most tuneful and attractive singing style. Fetch & Carry (John & David Marsh) gave great support in many of the big singing numbers with both the juniors and principals. Adam Lovell (Muddles The Palace Handyman) did just that coming on to bring great vitality to the show as his strong personality is so very good at. The fine casting was completed by useful contributions from Egor (The Witch's Henchman) and the most attractive Rainbow Faries and a brilliant acrobatic dance from Rhianna Watson in the U.V. scene. The chorus singing was excellent as were the very colourful costumes. Jo Sykes can be very proud of her first panto production.
