There won`t be many pantomimes as good as this. An excellent production that was slick, well rehearsed, and polished. It had the usual slapstick and tradition that is expected, the costumes were delightful and colourful, but it was the delivery and enjoyment given, epitomised by the appreciation of the audience, that makes for a good evening`s entertainment.
Nigel Taylor as Queen Dorothy led the way with a superb array of one liners that had the audience in stitches. Ably supported by Wayne Perry as King Norbert, and Xephni De Waal as the Royal Butler, who kept the piece moving at a lively pace. Brilliant performances by Regina Repton, and Yvonne Baird as Carobosse and Spindleshanks, who bounced off each other perfectly. Their make-up was particularly impressive. Princess Aurora played by Helen Perry, and Cat Howourth as Prince Orlando, together with the rest of the cast completed a very competent line-up, with good support from the chorus and musicians.
