Written by Bob Heather and Cheryl Barratt, this script was new to me. Certainly some of the characters' names were particularly interesting,
while the story followed the usual lines. Kevin Pattenden shone as Marigold Glove and I commend Ed Grayson-Foottit as Marigold's son,
Andy Glove. We met three friendly fairies played by Jayne Cox, Mark Fairweather and Mike Curtis. Princess Snowdrop [Ellie Woolnough] and
Prince Rupert [Charlie Taylor] were ideal in these roles.
As a dog-lover, I found Baskerville, the Prince's hound to be utterly charming. The rest of the main characters along with the chorus members performed well.
There were several excellent routines by the Staples Dance Academy Dancers. I thought their Riverdance was breathtakingly beautiful. This
panto had all the aspects one would expect: plenty of comedy, good vocals, pleasant dance routines and sheer enthusiasm from all concerned.
