What a treat this was! It was good to see quite a lot of young children in the audience. Written by Dvaid Ireland, the story was simply told and very artistically staged. All the youngsters did very well although a few need to remember to speak really clearly. Charlie Tant and Lewis Irving made a lot of their comic roles as Peter and Piper; Joe Jackson was notable as the Dowager Duchess; Lucy Armstrong and Gracie Emmerson sang with tuneful confidence as Briar Rose and Prince Arthur while Louise Jackson was suitably evil as Fangdora. I liked the quartet of fairies of Love, Grace, Joy and Kindness very much. The costumes throughout were quite delightful and the backcloth of Horncastle Market Place was lovely. Added to these were  excellent sound and lighting effects, This was a most enjoyable production.
