Six - Teen Edition

To decide on this rock musical Six, for this talented company was an inspired idea and Andrew Griffiths is to be congratulated on his involvement as Project Supervisor and Ruth Friend as Music Supervisor for this highly successful production.

With twelve girl power performers all giving the performance of their lives in two separate performances. It was indeed difficult to single out any one performer as they all had their amazing strengths as they played the wives of King Henry VIII, who were either Divorced, Beheaded, Died, Divorced, Beheaded, Survived. I attended both teams who performed on separate performances. The Aragons Freya Piper and T J Friend led the way with high energy performances. The tragic Boleyns from Astrid Westerlund and Anya Duberley also excelled.

The intensity filled this appropriate venue the ancient church of St Mary in Monmouth. A perfect setting complete with medieval styled six carved chairs waiting for the Queens to give their own intense story. Outstanding costumes by the cast enhanced with lighting by Paul Mercer-Wright and Bethany Piper and sound by John Parfitt. The music was electric throughout, moving and poignant and then the rock numbers started raising the roof.

Everyone of these talented casts coordinated every move to perfection and this was an all round astonishing performance by all twelve performers.
