~~WOW, OMG, Brilliant, Fantastic, I do not think there are enough superlatives to describe this show, it had everything to make it so fantastic and judging by the reactions from the audience when I was there I was not the only one who had these thoughts.
In the leading role of Deloris they could not have had a better actor than Janine Dyer who, when you consider she had taken on the role only a matter of weeks prior to the show when the previous leading lady had to give back word, was amazing. Janine was able to not only sing the songs but it would appear she was actually, living them. I especially enjoyed her singing of the title song, “Sister Act”, it really was breathtaking.
Of course there are others in this show who added to the enjoyment such as Wendy Prew who was a perfect Mother Superior, she was able to take command not only of the other Nuns in her Convent but also of the songs which she performed to perfection. There were some great comic performances from Lisa Kendall as Sister Mary Patrick who seemed to have a permanent smile on her face, and so she should have as should Emily Kendall as Sister Mary Robert, the young postulant who blossomed and blossomed throughout the show.
There were also some great characters portrayed by Martyn Lees as Monsignor O’Hara, Jo Smith as Sister Mary Lazarus, David Cooper as Eddie and Gary Burgin as Curtis, all of these adding to the enjoyment of this show.
There was not a weak link in this piece and credit must go to everyone involved as well as the scenic artists who delivered a great set, this added to the more than competent stage crew, ensured this was a show to be remembered.
Many congratulations to everyone involved in this show and thank you for your continued hospitality.
