~Based on the 1992 film of the same name, The Arcadians gave the audience a night to remember.
Nicole Appleby who played our heroine Deloris Van Cartier led the company.  As we all know Deloris witnesses her boyfriend kill one of his gang and the police decide to hide her in a nunnery.  Nicole had a wonderful soulful voice and deserved all the applause that she received. Her rendition of the title song ‘Sister Act’ was a joy to listen to.
Sarah Evans as the Mother Superior gave a strong performance, as did Lisa Blissitt as Sister Mary Lazarus, together with Mairead Mallon as Sister Mary Robert and Laura Peters as Sister Mary Patrick.  Frank Foley as Monsignor O’Hara was just a joy to watch as always.
Jonathan Blake as Curtis who together with Mark Heath, Lee Saczac and Daniel Jackson made a great on stage team led the Villains.
Most of the comedy came from Daniel Guzman as ‘Sweaty’ Eddie.  Really well acted.
The set was good, the inside of the nunnery doubling up as the church.  The orchestra sounded good and the costumes outstanding.
This production was of a very high standard but I am just sorry that the company had a few technical difficulties that led to some slow scene changes.  However the audience did not seem to mind.
Mary Johns and The Arcadians should be proud of this production.
A good night was had by all.
