TADAMS’ production of Sister Act was a dazzling celebration of soul, humour, and heartfelt moments.

This was a production to be proud of, beautifully staged and featuring a strong cast the show delivered an afternoon full of joy and excitement, leaving the audience thoroughly entertained. The excellent characterisation, showcased through outstanding direction (Stuart Whyte), Vocals (Shona Morgan), and choreography (Mirren Aird), was a joy to watch. It was abundantly clear that everyone on stage was having an incredible time, and their infectious team spirit shone throughout the Show. Together, they truly raised their voices and spread the love around.

Chloe Devlin was a perfect fit as Deloris Van Cartier, exuding charisma and energy with her powerhouse vocals and infectious confidence. From the glitz of the opening to Deloris’ emotional transformation, Devlin carried the show with style, creating a memorable and lovable lead.

Lynne Binnie, as Mother Superior, brought the gravitas and emotional weight needed to counterbalance Deloris’ lively presence. Her nuanced performance, coupled with her soaring vocals, provided some of the show’s most moving moments.

The convent sisters were brimming with charm and individuality. Melissa Tavendale (Sister Mary Robert) stood out with her stunning rendition of “The Life I Never Led,” Jen Harris (Sister Mary Patrick) delivered endless quirky joy and laughter with her boundless enthusiasm, and Ruth McKay (Sister Mary Lazarus) had the audience in stitches with her dry humour and rapping. Adding to this brilliant ensemble were Carey Normand (Sister Martin-of-Tours) and Rhona McCallum (Sister Mary Theresa), who brought their own comedic flair and personality to the stage.

Kaitlyn Stott and Cary’s Morgan impressed as Michelle/Sister Mary Louise and Tina/Sister Mary Irene, delivering dynamic vocals and excellent comedic timing. Their early scenes as Deloris’ backup singers and their transition into the convent setting were seamless.

On the law enforcement side, Craig Nicoll gave a charming and heartfelt performance as Eddie Souther. His rendition of “I Could Be That Guy” was both hilarious and touching, making him an audience favourite. Meanwhile, Billy Naismith embodied Curtis Jackson with an air of menace, creating a compelling and confident villain.

The trio of henchmen, Adrian Lonsdale (Joey), Chloe Din (TJ), and Jonah Philipson-Masters (Pablo), provided comedic gold. Their antics and the hilariously performed “Lady in the Long Black Dress” were highlights of the evening, with the audience erupting into laughter.

Oliver Stirling, as Monsignor O’Hara, brought warmth and humour to the role, adding an extra layer of lightheartedness to the story.

Behind the scenes, the production crew led by David Nicoll deserve high praise for their slick and seamless set changes, which kept the pace of the show moving effortlessly. The smooth transitions added to the overall polish of the production and ensured the audience remained immersed in the action from start to finish.

The vibrant choreography, enthusiastic performances from the ensemble, brought the big numbers, such as “Raise Your Voice” and “Spread the Love Around”, to life. These explosive, uplifting moments perfectly captured the heart of the story and the cohesive and infectious team spirit that ran throughout the Show. The costumes and set design added further polish, creating a colorful and immersive world.

TADAMS has delivered yet another triumph with Sister Act. This joyous production left the audience smiling and clapping along, a true testament to the talent and passion of everyone involved.

I was also honoured to present NODA Service Awards spanning from 5-50 years to the cast after the show.
