This was a toe-tapping production and no mistake and it would be difficult to find fault with any aspect of it. The main characters were extremely well-cast with very competent support from the rest of the company. Christian Norton [Don Lockwood] and Ian Ganderton [Cosmo Brown] suited their roles admirably. I especially enjoyed Cosmo's 'Let 'em Laugh' and Don's 'Singin' in the Rain' where the special effects were particularly sensational. I must confess I am concerned that Chloe Swindell's voice will suffer from the raucous caterwauling she has to inflict upon it. The voice is ideal for the role. Jo Dewberry, in addition to being responsible for all the choreography in this all singing /all dancing show, she shone in her part as Kathy Seldon. Tap-dancing is a major factor in this show and CAODS did not disappoint. Each routine was energetic and inventive and was executed very well. The orchestra provided excellent accompaniment throughout. The set was designed to afford plenty of space for movement; the costumes were excellent and both the lighting and special effects were truly dramatic. This was a most enjoyable production.
