This Musical Revue Showtune was a celebration of the music of Jerry Herman. There is music from many of his shows including ` Hello Dolly`,` Mame` `Mack and Mabel` and `La Cage Aux Folles`.
Eight principal cast members with chorus made up this charming show, with the eight singing solos, pairs or in ensembles with the chorus, The couples were so well cast and all sang exceptional. The four principal ladies included Heather Ogden, Teresa Harper, Sarah Pilkington and Holly Swinton. They worked well with their partners Adrian Pollit, Mjke Thomas, Dean Richardson and Zack Thornley. There were some well moved company numbers, I would have liked to have seen more. I enjoyed all the music especially Teresa Harper singing `Time Heals Everything` and Zack Thornley with `It Only Takes a Moment`. Holly Swinton sang `Shalom` beautifully. One chorus number that really stood out was `The Best Of Times` I was so moved by Adrian Pollit singing `I Won`t send Roses`. Fantastic.
The orchestra was well controlled by Brian Lawson, I heard every word. The set was simple but effective and costumes were beautiful.
Thank you so much for your kind invitation.
