Christmas comes but once a year, and the start of the festive season for me is always the ‘Trinity Players’ December concert and this year they certainly pulled out all the stops.
From ‘There’s no Business like Show Business’ to ‘Colour my World’ the audience were treated to an evenings worth of first class entertainment spanning from the 1920’s to the present day and including numbers that Trinity had staged over the last forty six years.
The audience really enjoyed the production, in particular Leigh-Ann James singing an item from ‘Showboat’ and ‘Secret Love’ from ‘Calamity Jane’ both of which suited her rich voice. It was also nice to see Jennifer Holyhead back on the stage in her two solo spots. Dan Barnes gave us a superb ‘Impossible Dream’ which went down very well with the audience. He also sang ‘’Out there’ from Trinity’s forthcoming production of ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’. The gentlemen of the company including Musical Director gave a rousing performance of ‘Bui-Doi’ from ‘Miss Saigon’.
The production finished off with a fantastic rendition of ‘Colour My World’ from ‘Priscilla’ and had some really strong harmonies in it.
Congratulations to the whole company with this show and I look forward to the next.
