Shakers Restirred

When Rachel Ingham was given the opportunity to direct 'something small' she certainly did not take the easy way out. She was blessed with four very compentent actresses in Katie Jeffers as Nicky, Emma Smith playing Carol, Claire Malpas as Mel and Amy Walters taking the part of Adele. The four girls were strong across the board with their change of accents and different portrayals. Shakers was not your usual play but many moods and changes of character for the four girls to get across. The one-set cocktail bar was well equiped and helped with the setting of the different scenarios. The audiences that supported Festival Players were certainly treated to a play with a difference but well executed. It was good to see something different.
