This production showed just what can be achieved with very limited facilities by a Society with little experience of musicals but with an urge to succeed whatever the problem. I am still not sure how Jo managed to fill the limited stage space with the full cast and yet find space for a dance group to perform so effectively. Well done, you made very good use of every inch of available stage space. Peter certainly made a good job of converting a drama group to a musical group with plenty of examples of good singing. As if that was not enough he also took on the role of Scrooge very successfully, with a great character portrayal. There were good performances from all the cast, especially Luke Fletcher as Bob Cratchit, Lauren Greenhalgh as Helen & Isabel, and Jess Starr as Bess, while Codie Dexter played a lovely Tiny Tim. The Excel Dance School provided very nice and well choreographed dance routines, quite a challenge in the space available. Good costumes and a very effective set enhanced the visual effect and this was also helped by good lighting despite the limited resources. This was good entertainment and a great achievement which must have required good team work, not to mention plenty of hard work.
