Well done Carnoustie Theatre Club for a fun filled afternoon of entertainment. This Panto had all of the traditions and all of the fun. I was so impressed by the younger characters on stage all singing their hearts out and smiling. The adults too played their parts in the chorus with enthusiasm and the dancers with style.

Our charming principal girl and boy were played by Beth Geddes (Crystal) and Molly Perrot (Simon). Strong confident characters with lovely singing voices. Well done girls.

At stage left were the dastardly duo of Baldrix the Bad (Craig Douris) and Agnes the Absolute Disgusting (Audrey Doherty) played with nastiness and effectively stirring up the audience. On the good side we had a trio of delightful character fairies. All with their own personality and involved in the action throughout. They were Gloria the Good (Hollie McIntosh), Doris the Fairly Incompetent (Nikki Doig) and Muriel the Miserable (Linsey McDonald).

The comedy was in the capable hands of Nanny (George Doherty) and Puddle (Olivia Robbie). The interaction between them was spot on and they were the perfect foil for a very realistic loveable Santa (Grant Wilson).

In Santa’s workshop we had some special junior Elves, Old Bill (Daniel Gray), Helfie (Charlie Grogan), Twelf (Alice Evatt), Welfie (Hamish Ralston), Selfie (Allie Reid) and Belfry (Sophie Perrott). They all wowed the audience with their great stage presence and confidence in singing and dialogue helped by the delightful Bookshelf (Rebecca McKell). Completing the line-up was our 2 fake Santa’s (Gary Cavanagh, Aaron Law) and a suitable suited Big Foot (Grant Roach).

The set was very effective and the scene changes were managed with precision. Props looked amazing and the costumes and make up shone. Well done back stage heroes. Sound and lighting completed the picture. A special mention to the production team for achieving this level of performance with a large cast and a tight space. Congratulations on a successful run. Thank you for your continued hospitality and enjoy your festive break. You all deserve it!
