I did not know what to expect with this play, but it was so well acted, a wonderful evening’s entertainment.

Doris and George are a couple who meet at the same time every year in the same hotel room.  They relate stories of each other’s husband and wife and their families.  In the production, even through they meet every year, the play is set in five-year sections, so we catch up with the different phases of their relationship.

Jayne Lunn and Rod Bissett played Doris and George.  They acted so well together you would think that they were actually a couple.  I have great admiration for these two actors as they had to learn great chunks of dialogue.

The set was another hit for the Sutton Arts set builders going into great detail.  Even as the story went on certain small items were changed in the hotel room, so, it looked like we were in a different time frame.    I also appreciated the video screen on side of stage playing music and showing photographs of the year, we were in.

Joanne Ellis did a wonderful job of directing this two hander and all praise should go to her and her team.

Many congratulations to all involved and I look forward to the next production at Sutton Arts.
