This was a typical village Panto that was lapped up by the locals, who joined in with relish to the numerous promptings from the cast.  There were good portrayals throughout this well-staged production.

A top-drawer act in the devilish title role of Rumpelstiltskin was delivered by Neve Smith.  Acted superbly, and strong vocally, she was eye catching throughout.  Kat Fenton was an admirable Lucy, again with good vocals.  Richard Kirkland as Ferdinand, the corrupt Tax Collector, was suitably evil, collecting his fair share of boos.  I liked Kelly Botham as the dim-witted Toby, she delivered an assured and convincing performance.

Jo Russell and Rachel Humphries, as Scarlet and Violet, played the boisterous keep fit girls, bringing loud riotous flourishes to the evening.  Good support came from Stacey Murton as the Palace Aid, with Catherine Baker as Sprite, the good fairy.   Nick Mothershaw as King Michael, and Alisdair Hamilton as the  fidgety Dame Patsy, along with Ian Humphries as Bert the Town Crier, completed the cast line-up.

A special accolade must go to the dance team who delivered some top-class routines throughout.  They were well costumed with good co-ordination and certainly enhanced the production.
