Their contribution to our entertainment was highly significant, as is usual, but their ‘mention’ so often comes after the actors and musicians. As Ben Jones, the very able director of the show has also been listed in the ‘Crew’, it seemed appropriate to acknowledge you all first. The set was smart, detailed and the build superb having stairs, windows and a front door indicating two floors. The ground floor had several operational doors to other rooms and no fuss, smart and good quality furnishings indicating the good taste of the ‘aspiring’ occupants. Similarly, the ‘wardrobe’ was excellent at providing recognition of the ‘elegance’ and good taste, and ‘station’ of the characters we were to meet this evening.

Steve Wickenden, playing Chris Gorman, was excellent in holding our attention for a good length of time with a fairly frantic ‘monologue’ on the telephone with another expected guest.  Apparently, he had arrived to discover one of their hosts covered with blood and no evidence of the other one. A conversation with Robbie Macintyre-McGovan, playing his partner Ken Gorman, behind the door of their host's bedroom! Excellent pace, if a bit confusing initially. Lenny Ganz played by Matt Platt, and his wife, Claire Ganz, played by Beatriz Falavigna, had been in an accident on the way and had ‘fled’ the scene to arrive in time for the ‘party’.The Cusacks played by Casey Roundy’s earnest Ernie and Carole Morris his kooky Cookie were in the nicer end of the friend ‘pool’. The arrival of the two traffic cops, played by Cathy Bradley and John Pickering, were really good counterpoints to the neurosis in the room!

Written in 1988 this was a play of its time, smart, ‘sharp’ and busy. Thank you and your company for an excellent evening's entertainment.
