Directed by Mary Gallacher this production lived up to all expectations as a happy and fun loving evening. The whole show was happy go lucky, on stage and in the audience everybody having good time on a very wet Sunday. Robin Hood (Darren Coppe) and Maid Marion (Emma Dalton) gave a splendid performances as did Will Scarlet (Jen Baxter) complete with plenty of thigh slapping. The Sheriff of Nottingham (Andy Roe) played an excellent baddie being greeted with with the usual boos from the children well assisted by Herman the Henchman (Brian Marks). Nurse Nora (Peter Flew) in the role of dame was in fine form ably supported by Friar Tuck (Carol Gallacher) who as usual was full of fun, and Little John (Douglas McLeod). The Spirit of Greenwood (Jenny Mayor) resplendent in her green costume and lots of glitter did her magic spell. The Babes, Janet and John, and Patsy (Sarah Goddard) and the whole of the ensemble ably supported the production. Bob Good conducted the small orchestra and complemented the production. Choreographer Sarah Newey did a great job with many dance routines, the well drilled boys and girls gave great entertainment value. Stage Manager Chris Morley and his team managed the scenes well as did Eddie King Lighting Designer and Mike Wheeler Sound Engineer. Enjoyed by all, starting off the Festive season with gusto Oh Yes They Did!.
