I don’t think I have ever seen a production on such a small stage . The company did very well to tell this tale with such limited space.
Scenery was minimal but the back cloths were delightful , particularly for the market scene .
Costumes were adequate , though Rob Ives as Nurse had fabulous outfits & wigs .
Generally this is a very young inexperienced cast , with the exception of a couple of principals played by adults .
I would have preferred to hear the young chorus actually singing their songs rather than using CDs/ Tapes of professionals. Their routines were simple but clearly enjoyed by the audience .
I was particularly impressed with the number using a ukulele which was lovely. ( If it was a different instrument , apologies)
Pointers to consider for future productions :
Principals were very static;
Diction & volumes need addressing;
Pauses were too long - and Smile !
All in all the audience enjoyed the performance .
Well done to all involved .
