On a very wintry night I was transported to the warmth of Sherwood Forest, thanks to Culter Theatre Club’s 25th annual panto. All the ingredients for a successful panto were there. Jessica Leech played Robin in a masterful way, and her duets with Maid Marion (Scarlett Massie) were beautifully blended. The Sherriff (Stuart McMain), a Trevor Eve lookalike, was delightfully bad with comic touches. Nanny Scarlett (Colin Jones) was a good dame, particularly in the Nursery scene. Clever use of Muppet-type babies and their “water” display went down well. Her son Will (Jimmy Lamont) was funny and couthy. Unusual casting of Friar Tuck (Christian Cooper) was clever, but for me the star award goes to Teddy (Bethany Bruce) who melted everyone’s hearts. A skillful show by a good production team. Well done everyone!
