It was a pleasure on this wintery evening to visit Revue 2014. The evening got off to a bright start with Calypso Beat giving everybody that bright summery feeling, the senior ladies of the ballet gave us a very clever rendering of Aye Aye/Suku Suku. This was followed on by a very clever interpretation of songs from the 50s era entitled Dreamboats & Petticoats congratulations to Euan & Bob for their version of Till I Kissed You. Moving on we had a bright happy selection from Sunshine on Leith very good movement in this section. After the interval we were treated to a wartime selection which interpreted a bit of comedy during Whispering Grass. The penultimate item entitled Anthems covered a spectrum from the Lloyd Webber Anthem sung by Audrey Dixon, through the Slaves Chorus and Gilbert & Sullivan this was finished with the full company giving us Highland Cathedral. The final selection included songs from the companies forthcoming production of The Wizard of Oz and finished with the full company asking us all to Be Our Guest. This years concert had a bit of sparkle about it which was missing last year. Congratulations again to everybody for a very successful show and I wish you all best wishes for your spring production.
