A well choreographed opening number set the scene for a selection of well known 'Bond ' film themes. The programme which followed was very varied indeed giving the opportunity to demonstrate the versatility of the company members both young and more mature. The first act was more serious and sedate particularly in the Forces Tribute section where the female members of the company performed in the style of the Military Wives. The balance of voices was very good indeed and the final 'Sing ' was strong and emotive. The second act got off to a bright and lively start with a medley of folk music which allowed some audience participation. The gentlemen revelled in the 'Irish Rover ' while Audrey's 'Caledonia' was well sung and well received by the audience. In the Bert Bacharach section, a humorous rendition of 'I'll Never Fall In Love Again' by some of the ladies of the company was fun and again lightened the mood. Once again the company demonstrated it's strength in choral singing especially in 'At The End Of The Day', 'Scarborough Fair' and 'Radio Gaga' which was exuberant and well presented. The younger members of the company also did a great job in their delightful 'Jeely Piece Song' and 'Truly Scrumptious'. I admire the way they cope with memorising so many words and moves and the confident way in which they perform. Despite a few first night nerves, this was an enjoyable evenings entertainment with great variety in mood and style offering something for everyone. The small band did well in supporting the company.
