Despite having to cancel two performances due to adverse weather and the Saturday Matinee becoming their opening performance, this show was ‘truly out of this world

On arrival you are welcomed aboard the spaceship and all the audience were asked to stand to help equalize the pressure.

This story is based on ‘The Tempest’ and has a wonderful score of 50’s and 60’s music.  On this particular flight we encounter a love triangle, a friendly robot and a monster.

Charlie Loughran played Captain Tempest who had a really good singing voice.  Georgia-Beth Rabone gave a superb performance as the Science Officer and was a joy to listen to, especially singing ‘It’s a Man’s World’.  Richard Loughran’s robot ‘Ariel’ was very well delivered and his deep voice was well used in ‘Good Vibrations’.  Joseph Canning as Prospero and Erin Craddock performed well and were well supported by Dan Bradbury and Kathryn Ritchie.  Ciaran Walker was outstanding as Cookie and I enjoyed his rendition of ‘She’s Not There’.    The three news reporters (Abigail Baxter, Isabelle O’Donnell and Gemma Winfield) kept us all updated on what was going on during the flight.

Even though the cast had lost two days performing they put everything they had into this, their opening night,  The set and costumes looked good in this high quality performance.

There were a couple of sound issues but nothing that marred the overall enjoyment of the show by this talented bunch of young people.
