What a lovely original story! This was an updated fairy tale but with all the traditional ingredients. All the necessary characters were there including Fairy Cupcake - Sue Davies looking like a culinary treat with a lovely voice. The chorus in their colourful costumes were soon joined by Red (owner of the village teashop) played by Emily Neen-Simes who was a lovely principal girl. Macauley Parker was Robin Hood (not the one in green tights!) - Red's cousin - great comedy and Doug Dalziel was the Dame - Granny Hood - giving us lots of fun. Principal Boy was Ben Chaffin as Will the Woodcutter, he and Red making a lovely couple. The twist of the Wolf being a vegetarian was wonderful. Tristan Goddard played Wolfgang Lupe - a very smart looking but timid wolf who was really loveable. The baddie was Emma Piersenne looking very sinister as Cruella Cashback - great performance. George Noble was Forest Grump - a rather grumpy but goodhearted character. The final principal role was the suitcase, voiced by Margaret Cutting - a talking suitcase travelling at speed with eyes and moving lips - a really good bit of technnical business. The team of dancers performed very well and the band throughout were a great support to the action. Scenery was well thought out as were the costumes and congratulations must go to all working backstage. Carol Nobel wrote and directed this panto which threw a fresh light on the story of Red Riding Hood. Well done!
