The last time I was invited to Evesham Operatic and Dramatic Society was when they performed Brassed Off for a second time. A lot has happened since then, but it was good to be invited back to their first performance since the pandemic.
Evesham, along with other groups, had suffered with the effects that restrictions and rules imposed on our daily lives since March 2020 and this was evident with the audience levels and the absence of some of their usual performers.
However, this gave the cast who did take part in this concert the chance to showcase their talent by performing musical numbers that they may not have been able to previously.
I would prefer not to single any one performance out as, the whole cast gave their all and performed with enthusiasm and the joy that they felt performing again was evident and felt by the whole audience.
A very simple staging with spilt levels so that when the whole ensemble were on the stage you could clearly see everybody and with suitable lighting and costumes, the evening was well put together.
I would like to offer my congratulations to EODS for battling through every obstacle and putting on a very enjoyable evening’s entertainment.
I very much look forward to seeing all at EODS in the future.
