Having a huge cast this pantomime was a delightful evening`s entertainment .The opening scene really had the ahhh!!! Factor, with some of the youngest dressed as flowers with the most attractive costumes and bright yellow flower heads. The chorus worked very hard in this show and all had most attractive outfits. Sound and lighting were just right with effective pyrotechnics.
All principals were well cast. Chris Wynn was a very attractive Fairy Queen and David Crank was a super `baddie` as The Demon King obviously enjoying the boos and hisses.
Alice and Jack,(Knave of Hearts) played by Jade Allmark and Kate Nixon acted and sang well together, their duet was delightful. Lauren Smith was a stunning Mischief, her acting and dancing were a delight to watch. Colin Dean was impressive as Sebastion Spade.
There were three actors who were outstanding in this show, Aminata Sow was wonderful as The White Rabbit, never once coming out of character. Stuart Mc`Caig and Nicola Walsh made a great pairing as Bingo Snap and Dolly Dealer. Their scene, doing a `Morecome and Wise` number to the music of `The Stripper` was hilarious as they set about mixing ingredients for a cake.
Completing the leads are Eddie Done as the downtrodden King of Hearts and a super Cheryl Rigby as the bossy Queen of Hearts.
Smaller parts The Woodland Characters were well played by cast members. This allowed members of the society to enjoy taking these parts, all were very good as it was probably their first time having a speaking role. Well Done.
Thank You for a great evening`s entertainment.
