One of the best pantos from Stowmarket, and this is saying something, because I feel that they really excel in this field. Written by James Hayward and Lynn Mortimer, it was an excellent script as we expect from this talented couple. Matt Bendell played the hero Pierre and he and the cat, brilliantly played by Zoe Cole were very good together. I liked Zoe’s make up. Sometimes with a cat there is a mask which completely covers the face, but not here, it was great. There was an excellent baddy played by Nigel Lungley. Nice to see him on stage here, as he usually appearing in shows with Felixstowe Societies. The music was carefully chosen which I think is very important and the costumes were excellent, as was the set which is expected now from the consultants such as Colin Hart and Peter Gunton.
The orchestra led by John Lindley, was in good form with many of the musicians playing together on other productions in the area.
I loved the Musketeers, led by Johnny Ellis, but I would like to commend all the cast because they all worked hard in their routines, and looked as thought they were enjoying themselves the whole time. Interesting that the circus sequences were especially trained by Martin and Lynette Taylor from Circus Ferrel.
Nicely directed by Cathy Dixey
Well done Stowmarket, a very successful and enjoyable evening, nice to know that you were sold out for all performances.
