I haven't seen ‘Puss in Boots’ for a long time, so thank you Rainham for putting this right. Joanna Godman you certainly have pantomime in your blood, you directed this banger of a Panto!! Your cast of players certainly did you and themselves proud, along with splendid choreography by Jemma/Christine Ridley - difficult on such a small stage - well done ladies.

‘Puss in Boots’ (Amy Marshall) owned that stage when she was on, and gave us a splendid performance. Bobbie (Jill Balderston) hit the high notes with her trumpet playing and she gave us some good scenes with the well rehearsed chorus of players. Queen Wendy The Won’t (Darren Hammock) and the King Wally The Once (Larry Davis) bounced off each other, well more like the poor King was silenced by her, but Larry was determined to get in there. Fairy Priscilla (Cara Micallef) and the ever so wicked Pernicia (Kerry Bailey) gave us a good level of nice and nasty!! Jack (Joe Pritchard)and the Princess Esmerelda (Louise Giddings) were the love interest and blended well with each other. Babs and Betty (Amanda Miller and Clair Fekkings) were well teamed together and I loved the accents girls. Mime puss a very agile (Leigh Redding) doing some moves that aghasted the audience..perfect… Who else could you have playing Grimgrab the Ogre (Alan Godman) so dirty and naughty - such a tallented actor - he turned the audience against him and that’s exactly what Alan wanted. He revelled in it and they loved him (well maybe not)! Now to two old stalwarts of the cast..Jasper (Gerald Flanagan) and Jethro (Kevin Lane) two men that gave us a lot of fun working together - was it in the script I ask myself? But whatever came out was so entertaining..brilliant gents. Costumes, lighting, props and staging as always were well executed and very spot on.

Rainham you have given the Medway towns another solid pantomime, Joanna with your experience of theatre and direction of this Puss in Boots, I applaud you!!
