This was a clever show in that you had two pantos in one. The mini panto inside Puss in Boots was Jack and the Beanstalk and this gave the younger members a chance to shine with their own lines including Violet Redfern as Jack and Hirom Squaire who was very cute as Blackberry the cow.
In the main storyline of Puss in Boots it was a good fun show with toe tapping numbers including Ogres love forever and I am a Believer among others. I am a Believer was a very appropriate song for the cast to perform at the end of the show as Peter Tork from the Monkees had passed away that day.
There was a strong cast for Puss in Boots with Rachelle King and Karen Spooner facing off as Fairy Priscilla and Fairy Pernicia respectively. Cliff Spooner as Grimgrab the Orgre enjoyed his being bad and provided some laughs by some of the things he was doing and hats off for getting the tounge twister correct at fast speed! King Wally and Queen Wendy (which is a good name for a Queen!) played by Jim Smith and David Francis and loved how the Queen was always speaking for the King. Jasper and Jethro played by Jess Square and Rodney Bowdler were a good double act.
I loved the children dressed up as different animals especially the snail which definitely brought a smile to the faces with the expression on his face of trying to do the moves like the rest of the animals.
The sing along was definitely for the children though am sure some adults have definitely heard of the Baby Shark song! I did like that you could see Grimgrab’s hands joining in with the hand movements from the wings!
This was as a good fun show and thank you for the kind invitation.
